Our team and mission
This position is based at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) - Noordwijk, Netherlands
The Systems Department is responsible for Systems and Concurrent Engineering, Software Engineering, Attitude and Orbit Control, Digital Engineering, AI, AR, XR, Cost Engineering, In Orbit Demonstration projects, Advanced Concepts Team and management of the Discovery and Preparation Technology Programme.

You will learn about tasks and competencies required to cover the role of a small sat and cubesat Space Engineer, by:
1) Actively participating in and supporting:
- Small sat and cubesat definition studies;
- Small sat and cubesat development;
- Technology developments for small sat and cubesat.
2) Definition of development approaches and standards for small sat and cubesat.

Education
You must be a university student, preferably in your final or second-to-last year of a university course at Master’s level and you need to remain enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship.
Additional requirements
The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
Knowledge and background Engineering is an asset, as well as the following:
- Knowledge and Background in Space Engineering, at mission, system or specific domain engineering disciplines;
- Knowledge and experience with engineering tools such as Matlab Simulink, CATIA, …;
