This position is based at the ESA HQ - Paris, France

 

The ESA Communication Department (DG-C), as part of the Director General’s Services, is responsible for all corporate ESA external and internal communications. 

Its goal is to raise awareness and understanding of ESA’s programmes and activities and to highlight the concrete benefits these activities provide to every citizen, as well as the inspiration they give to science and technology, learning and innovation including attracting or retaining the best talents for European space programmes. 

ESA aims to demonstrate the value of space activities to Member States and their taxpayers. 

As such, the communication strategy of ESA aims at creating awareness and understanding by the European citizens and the international partners for the achievements of ESA, its excellence in space science, space technology and space applications, with a focus on attracting young talents to ESA and space in Europe to ultimately create sustained support for ESA and its programmes.

Topic of the internship: Communication activities at ESA HQ

 

Reporting directly to the Head of the ESA Communication Department, you will support the communication activities at HQ with a particular focus and effort on outreach activities, communication support to member states, and social media activities.  

Within this context, you will tackle different aspects of communication activities and will have to liaise adequately with the concerned services such as in particular the ESA Member States Outreach Office and the Public Relation Officer for HQ, France, Belgium and Luxemburg. 

You will liaise adequately with the concerned services to ensure correct ESA branding compliance and adequate on-line communication supporting for any products developed within the frame of the Internship.

Education

You must be a university student, preferably in your final or second-to-last year of a university course at Master’s level and you need to remain enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship.

Additional requirements

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
